ExitWise privacy policy

Effective date: 25 October 2026 (Android backup of your progress; play statistics since 21 October 2026; first version 20 October 2026)

ExitWise ("the game") is made by Banello Studio, run by Paweł Laban, Moniuszki 7/7B, 26-610 Radom, Poland, NIP 9482645590 ("we"). Contact for anything about this policy or your data: banellostudio@proton.me.

The short version

1. Data saved on your phone

Your progress (levels solved, stars, settings, saved hints, the daily streak) is stored in the game's private storage on your device. It is not sent to us. If Android backup is on for your phone, Android may also keep an encrypted copy in your own Google account, so the game can restore your progress if you reinstall it or move to a new phone; we never receive or see that copy. Uninstalling the game deletes it from your phone; the backup copy is managed in your Google account (Android Settings or Google One).

2. Play statistics (only with your consent)

When you start the game for the first time, it asks: "Help improve ExitWise?". Only if you choose Share statistics do we collect:

We do not collect your name, email, contacts, precise location or advertising ID for statistics. Purpose: to find levels that are too hard or too easy and to design new ones (legal basis: your consent, GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).

The statistics are sent to Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited, which processes them for us. They go through Google's servers in the EU and are kept for 14 months, then deleted automatically. Google receives your IP address as part of the internet connection; Google Analytics does not store it. Google may transfer data to the USA under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, in which Google takes part (see Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services). If you play offline, events wait on your phone (at most 3 days) and are sent later.

You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Statistics: off. Nothing is collected or sent after that, and the install ID and any statistics still waiting on your phone are deleted. Statistics already sent cannot be linked to you by name; they are deleted after 14 months.

3. Ads (only when you choose to watch one)

The game shows a video ad only when you tap Watch an ad to get saved hints. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may process your device's advertising ID, IP address, device information and interactions with the ad, and may show personalised ads if you allow it. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks for your choice before any ad is loaded; you can change it later in Settings → Ad privacy choices. Legal basis: your consent (personalised ads) or Google's legitimate interest as described by Google. More: How Google uses information from apps that use its services.

4. Purchases

The full version is sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment; we only receive confirmation that the purchase exists (to unlock the game on your devices). See Google Play's terms.

5. Children

ExitWise is meant for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has shared data, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restriction of or objection to processing, and data portability, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Write to banellostudio@proton.me. Step by step: how to delete your ExitWise data. You can also complain to the Polish data protection authority, Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych (UODO), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, uodo.gov.pl.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new effective date. Important changes are also announced in the game.
